The new album is a musical tour de force for the boys in the band

This collection traverses from classic metal to jazzy grooves, expressive openness and raging jams.  No shortage of technical execution but just as much funktacular.  They pay homage to the flaming 80s guitars that anchored the bands development.  You can hear the influences the last 50 years of rock throughout the record.  Yet at the time you can hear the influences of jazz, classical and applied music theory throughout.  The band moves gracefully from one style to the next track to track.  Each song totally flows naturally to the next,   Tempos are a bit more laid back but songs  like Trigger Finger and Where are you - remind you Rolling Blackout can dial it up anytime.  The album is focused, and carefully staged to flow just right for an hour.  This album feels good.

This is a nod to our soulful roots - a little melancholy, a bit wistful and nostalgic.   This song  has some modern elements mixed with timeless open expressiveness.  Inspired a dear friend struggling, memories of the dead, the love in our lives and the resolve of time.    And of course our great Bohemian home San Francisco
